Xbox Series X (1882) repair

Model 1882 is the Xbox Series X, the tall black tower. It is well built; the repairs we see are a damaged HDMI port and a console that turns itself off.

Faults we repair on the 1882

• Damaged HDMI port. No signal on the TV, or a picture that drops out when the cable is touched.
• Turns off after a few minutes. Overheating from dust in the single large fan, or a failing power supply.
• No power at all. Internal power supply or main board.
• Disc drive not reading or grinding. Drive mechanism or laser.
• System error E100 or E200. Storage or system faults, diagnosed on the bench.
• Controller faults. Stick drift, bumpers and sync problems.

Good to know about this model

The console draws air from the bottom and blows it out of the top. Standing it in a closed cabinet is the usual cause of heat shutdowns.
