Nintendo Switch (HAC-001) repair

HAC-001 is the standard Nintendo Switch with the detachable Joy-Con controllers. It is carried everywhere, and its faults are the faults of anything carried everywhere.

• Where to find the number In small print on the back, at the bottom: "MOD. HAC-001". Consoles made from 2019 read HAC-001(-01) and have a longer battery life.

Faults we repair on the HAC-001

• Joy-Con stick drift. Characters moving on their own. We replace the analogue stick.
• Will not charge or turn on. A worn USB-C port or a failed charging chip on the board.
• Cracked screen or dead touch. Glass digitiser or LCD replaced.
• Game cards not read. Game card reader replaced.
• Joy-Con not detected on the rail. Rail connector or the Joy-Con itself.
• Noisy fan. Cleaned or replaced.

Good to know about this model

A Switch that will not turn on is often just deeply flat. Leave it on the original charger for an hour, then hold the power button for 15 seconds, before you assume the worst.
