MacBook Pro 14-inch, M1 Pro and M1 Max (A2442) repair
The A2442 brought back MagSafe, HDMI and the SD card slot, with a mini-LED screen that is superb and expensive. Screen damage is the repair we are asked about most on this model.

Faults we repair on the A2442
- Screen damage. Cracks, bright patches or coloured lines on the mini-LED panel.
- Not charging on MagSafe. Charging faults at the port or on the board; it will usually still charge by USB-C, which helps us find the cause.
- Liquid damage. Board-level clean and repair.
- HDMI or SD card slot not working. Port damage, or a fault on the board behind it.
- Battery service. Capacity loss on machines used plugged in all day.

Because the display is costly, we test first to confirm whether the panel itself or the board driving it has failed.
