MacBook Air 13-inch, M2 (A2681) repair

The A2681 brought the flat-sided design, the notch and MagSafe charging to the Air. It is tougher than it looks, but the screen and the charging port take most of the knocks.

Faults we repair on the A2681

• Cracked screen or lines on the display. Damage from pressure on the lid or something caught between screen and keyboard.
• MagSafe or USB-C not charging. An amber light that never turns green, or no light at all: the port board or the charging circuit.
• Liquid damage. Cleaned and repaired at board level; the sooner it arrives, the better the result.
• Battery wear. Reduced capacity after a few years of daily charging.
• Keys not responding. Often the after-effect of a small spill.

Good to know about this model

There is no fan, so a hot case under heavy work is normal. Sudden shutdowns are not, and point to the battery or the board.
