MacBook Pro 13-inch, M1 and M2 (A2338) repair

The A2338 is the last MacBook Pro with a Touch Bar. The same model number covers the M1 (2020) and M2 (2022) versions, and the repairs are the same for both.

Faults we repair on the A2338

• Screen faults. Cracks, a dim backlight, or a picture that cuts out as the lid moves.
• Touch Bar blank or flickering. The strip above the keyboard fails on its own or after a spill.
• Swollen battery. The trackpad stops clicking or the case no longer sits flat. Stop using it and do not charge it.
• No power. A logic board fault, traced and repaired at component level.
• Liquid damage. Full strip-down, clean and board repair.

Good to know about this model

Unlike the Air it has a fan. If it has become loud, the cooling system needs cleaning; that is a quick job.
