MSI GF63 Thin repair

The GF63 Thin is a light, affordable gaming laptop. If you own one, you have probably already heard about its hinges.

Faults we repair on the GF63

• Broken hinge. The hinge breaks away from its mounting and splits the case at the corner. We rebuild or replace the mounting.
• Overheating. Compact cooling doing a lot of work; cleaned and re-pasted.
• Not charging. Charging socket or board fault.
• Keyboard faults. Dead keys or backlight.
• Screen or screen cable. Flicker that changes as the lid moves is usually the cable, pinched by a failing hinge.

Good to know about this model

Open the lid from the centre, not from one corner. It takes the twisting load off the hinge that fails.
