Lenovo ThinkCentre repair
The ThinkCentre range runs from the palm-sized Tiny to conventional towers. The Tiny models behave more like laptops inside, and fail in laptop-like ways.
- Models M70, M80 and M90 (Tiny, small form factor and tower)
- Sold 2016 onwards
- Where to find the number On the label on the side or underside: "ThinkCentre M70q", with a type number.
Faults we repair on the ThinkCentre
- No power. On Tiny models the external power brick is the first suspect; on towers, the internal supply.
- Very slow. An SSD or more memory.
- Failed drive. Replaced, with your files moved across where they can be read.
- No picture. DisplayPort or HDMI output.
- Loud fan and overheating. Common on Tiny models that sit behind a monitor collecting dust.
Good to know about this model
A Tiny uses a laptop-style power brick. If it is dead, try another Lenovo brick of the same rating before assuming the computer has failed.
