EliteDesk and ProDesk are the HP business desktops, from the tiny Mini to the full tower. They are reliable, and their faults are the usual ones of an office PC run all day for years.

Faults we repair on the EliteDesk

• No power. Power supply or motherboard.
• Beeps and a red light at start-up. A logged hardware fault: memory, graphics or board.
• Very slow. An SSD in place of the hard drive.
• Failed drive. Replaced, with your files moved across where they can be read.
• Ports not working. USB and video outputs.
• Loud fan. Dust in the cooler.

Good to know about this model

At a start-up fault these flash the power light red, then white, and beep. The number of red and white flashes tells us where to look, so note them down.

A bench diagnostic is £54, deducted from the repair if you go ahead. You get the price before any work starts. Walk in Monday to Saturday, 9am to 6pm, or send an enquiry to arrange a courier collection.
